Set reconciliation start

Reconciliation start is the cutover date when Payfriend takes over bank reconciliation. Set it under Bank — the queue is locked until then.

Written by Nicki Elgaard

Reconciliation start (cutover date) is the date Payfriend takes over bank reconciliation. Everything before that date is treated as already reconciled in your old setup and should not appear as unmatched work in Payfriend.

Before you start

  • Bank is connected and transactions have been fetched

  • Accounting is connected (so booked balance can be compared)

  • You know roughly when bank and books last agreed

Steps

1. Go to Bank

Open Bank in the sidebar.

2. Find reconciliation start / cutover date

Payfriend usually suggests a date: the most recent day bank balance and booked balance agreed. That’s often the right choice.

3. Confirm or pick a date

Accept the suggestion, or choose another date if you have a deliberate cutover (e.g. month start after a manual reconcile).

4. Unlock the queue

Once set, the reconciliation queue covers transactions after the start date. Match documents, confirm suggestions, or swipe on mobile.

Check that it worked

  • Reconciliation start is visible/set under Bank

  • Queue is no longer blocked with “set start date”

  • Pre-start transactions don’t appear as a huge unmatched backlog
