Connect your business accounts via Open Banking so transactions and balances land in Payfriend and can match documents and invoices. The connection is read access to statements — not a blank cheque to move money without your approval.
Danish business banks — including Danske Bank Business Online, Nordea Erhverv, Jyske Erhverv and Sydbank Erhverv, plus savings banks — can be connected. It is still called Open Banking.
Before you start
Access to online banking / MitID for the business account
Signed in to Payfriend with bank permission
Knowing which accounts to include (operating, savings, Revolut Business, etc.)
Steps
1. Open Bank
Go to Bank in the sidebar (or Settings → Connections).
2. Start the connection
Choose Connect bank. Payfriend sends you to a secure consent flow at the bank.
3. Choose your bank and approve
Find your bank, sign in with the bank’s own method (typically MitID), and approve access.
Spar Nord: choose Nykredit. Spar Nord connects via Nykredit.
Revolut Business has its own flow — see Revolut Business.
If you don’t see your business bank, message us. We’ll turn on the right Open Banking connection on the account.
4. Select accounts
Mark the accounts Payfriend may read. Confirm.
5. Wait for the first fetch
Transactions are pulled on an ongoing basis (several times a day). The first sync can take a moment. The balance appears once the feed is running.
6. Set reconciliation start (when moving in)
If you have history from before Payfriend, set a reconciliation start before the queue makes sense as unmatched work.

Common issues
Symptom | Cause | Fix |
Approval fails | Timeout / MitID interrupted | Retry; don’t close the window mid-flow |
Spar Nord missing | It appears under Nykredit | Choose Nykredit |
Business bank missing | The connection is not enabled on the account yet | Message us so we can turn on Open Banking for Business Online / Erhverv |
Connection expired | Open Banking consent lasts about 180 days | Renew under Bank — see Bank connection expired or disconnected |
Missing account | Not selected in consent | Add account / reconnect |
Little history | Bank limit | Up to about 365 days; the bank may be stricter |

Reconciliation: reads transactions and balance
Pay bills: starts a payment that always needs approval in your bank (SCA). Money does not move in the background without you.
