How automatic bookkeeping works

AI reads the document, suggests account and VAT, and books when confident — typically up to about 80%. You approve the rest.

Automatic bookkeeping in Payfriend means: the document is read, account and VAT are suggested, and the posting can be booked into your accounting system (e-conomic, Dinero, or Billy) when confidence is high enough. The marketing figure of about 80% is a typical level for what can run without typing — not a guarantee for every company.

Why it matters

Manual bookkeeping is repetition: open document, look up account, type, repeat. Payfriend removes most of that so you only spend time on uncertain or special cases.

How it works in Payfriend

  1. Document arrives (email, e-Boks, scan, payroll, forward address)

  2. AI document reading extracts supplier, amount, VAT, dates, invoice number, etc.

  3. Classification — e.g. receipt vs. supplier invoice — routes the document

  4. Account suggestion based on patterns and your past choices

  5. Automatic booking when confidence is high enough — often combined with a bank match

  6. You — swipe or approve remaining cases; bulk-approve when many suggestions are ready

Booking mode

You can typically control whether items book automatically or save as draft — per area (e.g. bills, receipts, payroll, bank). Pick the model that matches your control needs.
